Financial Controller - Private Family Office

Our client, based in Hertfordshire, is the Private Family Office of a High Net Worth individual. The client has a number of investment companies mainly in the Residential and Commercial Property Investment Sectors, some Corporate Investments and some activities in the Leisure sector.

This Financial Controller role will work alongside an impressive Finance Director and will take ownership of the day to day accounting function for the group of companies and family trusts. Previous experience of Sage, MS Office, Management Accounts and VAT returns is essential. The role will be extremely varied, a new challenge every day, and will include preparation of management accounts for all entities, preparation of VAT returns, managing the part time bookkeeper and administrators, involvement in investment reports and analysis and ad hoc work related to property, farming and leisure activities on the family estate. The successful applicant for this challenging, varied and interesting hands-on role will be highly organised, trustworthy, resourceful, self-motivated and must possess a can-do attitude. Flexibility and maturity are also key requisites.

This role offers the successful applicant the opportunity to obtain a wealth of all-round experience, learning from an experienced qualified Finance Director (ACA) and would be a good move from a role in practice or a step up from a small privately owned business.  Experience in practice or a family office or property investment business would be useful.  Qualifications would be useful but are not essential at this stage.
