Job Description

Hybrid / London - Our client is an award-winning highly successful International Design Consultancy (Turnover c£40m, 300 staff) embarking on an exciting period of expansion in the UK, USA and Asia. The company is part of major international acquisitive group, focused on M&A opportunities.

Due to this growth and exciting future plans, the company has created a new role as Financial Controller, to report directly to the Group CFO.

Managing a team of 5 finance staff in the UK and additional finance staff overseas, this Financial Controller role will include:

  • Review team finance roles and responsibilities and manage the migration of autonomous financial processes and financial reporting from individual subsidiaries into the group reporting function.
  • Change management from legacy systems across the group into an ERP tool to ensure quality project management and financial reporting for the Board and other stakeholders.
  • Help drive income recognition and profitability by effective management of project finances and provision of KPI information for operational teams.
  • Enhance and develop project costing, the annual budgeting process, quarterly forecasting, business plan reviews and consolidated year end reporting, together with statutory audit support.
  • Oversee the day to day finance staff covering management accounting, management reporting and processing.

This Financial Controller role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your capabilities under the CFO / FD and ultimately establish yourself as succession for the CFO / FD role. You will need to demonstrate strong communication ability, excellent leadership skills and diverse IT capability including Excel and finance systems. You will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, ACMA, CIMA) with at least 5 - 10 years' post qualification experience, ideally from an international or group environment.
